Counselling for anxiety
Anxiety rarely announces itself as anxiety. It is the racing mind at 3AM, the tight chest before a conversation you dread.
It's often a part of you working overtime for a reason.
Together, we work to understand it, so it does not have to work so hard. As it settles, you'll find there's more room to breathe - to be yourself.
Counselling for depression
Depression can look like sadness, but just as often it is flatness, numbness, a loss of interest, or a heavy voice saying you are not enough. We work gently, not by arguing or skirting around it, but by getting curious about it, and making space for something lighter and brighter.
Support through grief and loss
Grief does not follow a schedule, and it is not only about death. The end of a relationship, a diagnosis, a move, a life that did not turn out as planned.
There is no timeline you are supposed to keep. Counselling is a place to be with your experience and to understand it without being rushed, learning to walk along side of it instead of being absorbed by it.
When infidelity or betrayal is a part of it
Betrayal cuts deep, whether you were hurt, caused it, or are tangled somewhere between. It shakes your sense of what was, or is, real. This is an area I have worked with closely for years.
In sessions we make room for the anger, grief, and confusion, and begin to understand what happened, why, and what you want next. We work towards rebuilding the trust that was lost within yourself and towards others.
13 years in the field of addiction
Thirteen years of my work has been in the field of addiction, from outreach to treatment to aftercare.
We do not shame. We work to understanding what the behaviour has been doing for you, so the parts caught in the cycle find another way.
Feeling stuck, and big transitions
Sometimes there is no single problem to point at. A transition, a new baby, a career shift, aging parents, has left you disoriented. Or you have done well by every outside measure and still feel something is missing. All of it is welcomed here for deeper exploration.
Sessions, in person and online
Sessions happen at my office in Kelowna or online anywhere in British Columbia.
Most people choose the room; some prefer the screen. Either works.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC. Counselling is not covered
by MSP, but many extended plans cover it, and I am a provider for Pacific Blue
Cross and Sun Life. Current fees and coverage are on the FAQ.

If this sounds like your kind of approach.
The simplest way to find out if this is a fit is a short conversation. We can talk about what brings you in, and where to go from there. No pressure, no commitment.
