I approach counselling from an integrated perspective incorporating modalities such as Family Systems, Collaborative, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion Focused (EFT), and Gottman therapy. Through this lens I support individuals, couples, and families with identifying their coping strategies and their cycles of interaction with themselves and others, with bringing awareness to the internal state that keeps them trapped in the same interactional dynamic with self and others, and with learning to reduce the reactivity they experiences so they can feel both heard and see by others. The techniques I use incorporate listening, psycho-educational discussions, role-play, cognitive re-framing, self-monitoring experiments, mindfulness and grounding exercises. I offer in person and online brief or long term support depending on your individual need.
I believe in the uniqueness of each individual and in meeting an individual in the place where they are at. The individual is the foundation of therapy and is the true master of change.
